This publication provides guidance on the design of Asymmetric Slimflor® Beams (ASB) with precast concrete hollow-core units. Two types of construction are defined: Type 1 - ASB sections and PC. Design of composite beams using precast concrete slabs (P), Design of asymmetric Slimflor beams with precast concrete slabs (P):and: Design of multi-storey braced frames (P), is not repeated. Provides guidance on the design of Asymmetric Slimflor Beams (ASB) with precast concrete hollow-core units. Considers construction of ASB sections and PC Units with and without a concrete topping. Practical guidance is given on tolerances that affect the bearing of the PC Units, and the end preparation of units to provide clearance for concrete. Computer software has been developed to predict the structural response of asymmetric slim floor steel beams, used with composite concrete floor slabs consisting of deep profiled steel decking. Comparisons between predicted behaviour and that recorded in standard fire tests, showed that the software is Cited by: Developed by the ArcelorMittal group, “Slim-Floor” construction is a fast, innovative and economical solution, which combines prefabricated slabs with built-in steel beams. Created to eliminate beam downstands under the floor, this reliable and economic construction method gives the architect new scope for imagination and guaranteed economy.   o in a structural system with no downstand beams, leading to reduced floor to floor heights. Two variations of Slimflor construction exist: • precast concrete slabs spanning between the beams13 with or without a concrete topping • deep decking spanning between the beams with in-situ concrete. to create a monolithic composite floor, see.

Slimflor consist of slim beam and precast concrete slab that rests on the beam and reinforced concrete is used to join units together. Composite beams and non-composite beams can be used in this type of floor system. Concrete beams and slabs BubbleDeck is a flooring system, which has proved to be highly successful throughout Europe since its development began ten years ago. BubbleDeck comprises a hollow, flat slab that spans in two directions, in which plastic balls are incorporated to replace, and therefore eliminate the concrete in the middle of a.
